Artificial intelligence technology significantly enhances students' creativity and imagination, promotes the reform of teaching methods, advances interdisciplinary cooperation, and satisfies the skill demands of the current job market. Although there remain challenges such as technical barriers, students' adaptability, educational resources, and the need for continuous updating, these problems can be effectively solved through strategies including professional training, the provision of adequate resources, continuous improvement of teaching methods, and the establishment of feedback mechanisms. To this end, after analyzing the innovative application of artificial intelligence technology in art design education in colleges and universities, together with its significance and current status, this paper clarifies the potential of artificial intelligence technology in the field of art design and provides important guiding suggestions for the future development of art design education in colleges and universities.
